The ALIGN Model for Inner Alignment

We all have different internal “parts” — the achiever pushing for results, the perfectionist wanting to avoid mistakes, the protector who hesitates to take risks, the inner critic trying to keep us sharp, to name a few. When these voices clash or go unrecognized, they quietly influence how we handle stress, communication, and relationships—often without our awareness.

Inner Alignment offers a root-cause approach that shifts the focus from self-protection to self-leadership. Based on concepts from Internal Family Systems (IFS), this work teaches people how to relate to their internal experiences with curiosity and compassion rather than trying to override unwanted thoughts or behaviors. When we learn to lead from our centered, compassionate Best Self, inner chaos gives way to clarity—and reactive behavior transforms into intentional, values-driven action.

  • Personally, we enjoy more inner harmony and resilience.
  • Professionally, we are more productive, creative, and collaborative.
  • At the team and organizational levels, there is greater psychological safety to share ideas, provide respectful feedback, and admit mistakes.

These same concepts can be applied to our external interactions, whether one-on-one or in a team or group. The best results are achieved when we work on our inner alignment first. Then the ALIGN model is easier to use with others.

You may notice that the ALIGN steps are similar to those used by effective leaders with their people. The key is to start by applying them to our inner “team” first. Now, our capacity to follow them in our external world is greatly increased.

Below, you can find two different ALIGN Model cheat sheets – one for inner alignment and one to use in your external world. Enjoy!

Keynotes & Workshops

I’m deeply passionate about helping people discover Inner Alignment because I’ve seen how powerfully it can change lives—both at work and beyond. When people understand and welcome what’s driving their reactions, everything shifts. They show up with more clarity, confidence, and connection—even in the moments that used to throw them off.

This isn’t about surface-level strategies or trying harder. It’s a next-level approach that transforms defensiveness and frustration into true connection and collaboration.

I do this through keynotes, workshops, and trainings that create understanding through experiences and stories.

If this resonates with you, I’d love to connect and explore what it could look like for your group.
